From the certainties of the past to the unknown future, Google is adding more spice to our lives than ever before . In the last few months the search optimization landscape has turned turtles and some ground rules are being rethought.
Apart from noticing very high fluctuation in results based on Time / Personalization in the last few months. I just noticed a user’s Google+ profile photo being published in SERP’s for an article she wrote on Cnet.
Google+ is definitely becoming a core part of SERP’s
Anyone else noticed other variations?
Apart from noticing very high fluctuation in results based on Time / Personalization in the last few months and the impact of Google+ to pages and how websites get hit by the Google bot immediately for indexation after someone shares a link on Google+ (Yes, on a few personal tests I had brand new websites in the index in just 60 minutes time after launch).
Today, I noticed a user’s Google+ profile photo being published in SERP’s for an article she wrote on Cnet (screen grab below). The exciting part is the real time connections Google is now making with content that is being published, it’s authors and also the consumers.

Google+ Profile Photo in SERPS
Cannot wait to see more things unfold in the next few months and birth of new mainstream socio-search at scale which only Google can provide.
UID Project India: Half of India’s population is likely to get "Unique Indentification Numbers" withing the next five years, as per Unique Identification Authority of India. So we are talking about roughly 600 million people with UIN, the question that remains is the scope of this project. Are we just talking about another Identification card or number or are we talking about something more progressive that would sync all the different aspects of Indian Citizens, like passports, ration cards, pan cards etc.
UID Project India (Unique Identity)
 |
This project aims to provide a unique indentification card to every citizen of India. This card will contain details like the name, sex, address, marital status, photo, identification mark and finger biometrics by 2011. The unique identification number will be based on a sophisticated application called SCOSTA, a secured electronic device that’s used for keeping data & other info in a way that only authorized persons can view it. It can be used as a voter I-card to proof for opening a bank account and among other things, is supposed to "ensure that any lacuna in the UPA flagship schemes (NREGS, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, Food Security Act etc) is removed so that the benefits do not reach those they are not meant for."
I do hope the UID Project turns around the various different nefarious activities which have been taking place by flotation of fakes and also enables singular tracking of our identification (16-digit number) per say.
